Andy Tackett
May 3, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
“Hard to categorize” is the first thing that comes to mind when hearing Andy’s Doomsday Device, an aggressive rock band from the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.
Soaring, heartfelt vocals, great musicianship, and non-pedestrian rhythms, reminiscent of influences such as Led Zeppelin, Queensryche, The Beatles and Kansas are the foundation of Andy’s Doomsday Device.
Singer, songwriter, guitarist Andy Tackett has moved forward with songs that speak with a unique and compelling view of the world around us, and his introspective, self exposing critique of himself.
Launched in 2009 Andy’s Doomsday Device formed to bring Andy’s musical vision to light for the world to hear and see, and also to bring joy to the ears of all in hearing distance.
Partnered in crime by Shea Gold, the thunderous animal of a drummer, used to driving bands on national stages all over the world. And, Rick Anderson, bassist extraordinaire with years of holding down the groove in rock and progressive bands from Milwaukee to Minnesota.
They have captured many measures of ingenuity and passion to make music that strives to the modern, while keeping the integrity of their predecessors.
4 hour cover show in the past, Andy moves forward on his own with the recent CD release, “Prophet Poet”, with a wide array of offerings. From his internationally acclaimed version of The Beatles “Eleanor Rigby”, the heavy anthem and title track “Prophet Poet” to the haunting, ethereal “Nothing Left To Say” and the catchy, radio-ready “Never Said Never”.
Now, gearing up for a National and European tour, A.D.D puts on “the big push” to bring his music and the message to the people!
