We will experience and explore all the nuances of the Buffalo Trace Distillery
bourbon, hand-rolled cigars by Don Rey Cigar and Amuse-bouche (small plate) pairings by our own Chef Joe.
We will start our special event with a tasting of four bourbons paired with our Chef’s special selections for each flight of bourbon. Meanwhile Pat Rey will be demonstrating the old-world art of hand cigar rolling for our finish in the Cigar Room.
Our tasting will include these very special bourbons:
Buffalo Trace; paired with Salmon mousse w/ bacon and fennel
Weller Special Reserve; paired with Flank steak crostini w/ goat cheese & pickled onion
Weller Antique 107; paired with Roasted sweet potato w/ prosciutto
Eagle Rare; paired with Apple Charlotte
Don Rey Cigars: (You will select a cigar of your choice)

Buffalo Trace Flavors: Crisp and quite vanilla-forward, with touches of honey and orange zest, licorice, and oak sitting underneath Weller Special Reserve Flavors: Berry and apple fruitiness and the caramel on the palate. the lack of bite also allows the finish to develop into a leathery oakiness, as opposed to the drier and more tannic ending in antique 107 Weller Antique Flavors: Caramel and dark berries followed by a hard alcoholic bite. The finish turns fruity and oaky, with the fruit eventually fading to make way for the dry oakiness. Eagle Rare Flavors: A sip starts with a wave of melted brown sugar and molasses, which gives way to vanilla, cinnamon, and cloves.
